From Cluttered Shelving to a Premium Display Area

Many businesses rely on a mixture of basic shelving, storage boxes and workbenches to display products and organise stock. While functional, these solutions often create a cluttered appearance that does little to showcase the quality of the products on display.

For this demonstration, we transformed an existing display area using four of SQUIREL's modular storage units: The Starter Kit, The One Up, The One Out Starter Kit, and The One Out. By combining multiple modules, we created a display that not only showcased a wide range of products but also demonstrated the flexibility of the SQUIREL modular system.

The original setup consisted of standard shelving used to display products and store everyday items. Although practical, it lacked structure and failed to create a welcoming retail space. By replacing it with a combination of SQUIREL modules, the display became organised, visually consistent and far more engaging for customers.

The modular layout allowed products to be grouped logically, making them easier to browse while creating a cleaner, more professional presentation. The premium birch plywood construction and distinctive Hex Board finish helped elevate the overall appearance, transforming a simple storage area into a display that reflected the quality of the products on show.

Perhaps the biggest advantage is that the display can continue to evolve. As product ranges change, additional modules can be added, layouts can be reconfigured, and individual units can be repositioned or used independently without replacing the entire installation.

The result was a display area that looked cleaner, felt more organised and created a far stronger first impression—demonstrating how modular storage can become an integral part of the customer experience rather than simply somewhere to place products.
